As a mixed media artist, I explore the boundaries between painting and sculpture through my signature "Sewn Paint" technique. This method involves sewing paint with thread, creating pieces that add a tangible third dimension to traditional art forms. While my work may initially appear as fabric or plastic, closer inspection reveals that it is sculpted entirely from paint, thread, and resin.
My current body of work features vibrant or subdued cured paint, meticulously sewn and sculpted, creating an interactive experience for viewers. The interplay of texture, color, and dimension offers a sensory experience that invites close exploration.
My art is a reflection of my background and experiences. Growing up with a father who was an architect, engineer, and artist, I developed a passion for design and structure that informs my abstract pieces. Recently, I’ve expanded into wearable art, such as bracelets and embellished cowboy hats, showcasing the versatility of my technique.
Through my practice, I strive to inspire others to embrace art's potential in various forms, making a lasting impact on both the art world and its audience.
